There is no reliable software solution. It’s not the cable. This can be done in safe mode if necessary. All monitors, analog or digital, must support EDID, which contains info such as the monitor identifier, manufacturer data, hardware identifier, timing info, and so on. It’s possible you’re editing the wrong one. I’ve read elsewhere that by using the EDID override in the Control Panel, the card will just assume the display is there and always render to it.

Overriding Monitor EDIDs with an INF
